STATEMENT TO SEAC MEMBERSHIP
To our SEAC Family,
The Southeast Athletic Club (SEAC) Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to address an important decision regarding the future of our organization and our role in supporting elite hockey development in the South East region of Alberta. After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to formally terminate our existing agreement with the Medicine Hat Minor Hockey Association regarding the management and operation of the three ‘AAA’ teams by the South East Athletic Club (SEAC). Effective 60 days from today, the South East Athletic Club (SEAC) will no longer be responsible for the management and operation of these three ‘AAA’ teams.
This decision did not come lightly. The South East Athletic Club (SEAC) has always been guided by our core values of integrity, teamwork, respect, and community. To continue to adhere to our core values, the South East Athletic Club (SEAC) Executive determined that continuing with the existing agreement was no longer in the best interests of our organization, our players and our mission to support elite hockey development in the South East region of Alberta.
We recognize that this change may bring uncertainty, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition over the coming weeks. Our priority remains the well-being and success of the athletes, and we will work to support them and their families during this process.
The South East Athletic Club (SEAC) is proud of the work everyone has done in developing high-performance hockey in the South East region of Alberta over the past 15 years, including the work of our coaches, team staff, players, parents, sponsors, community partners, past and present Executive members. We hope and trust that this change will allow for new opportunities to continue supporting elite hockey development in the in South East region of Alberta.
While our decision marks the end of our current involvement with the three 'AAA' hockey teams in the South East region of Alberta, we remain dedicated to upholding the values that have defined the South East Athletic Club (SEAC) and will continue to explore opportunities to support the development of young athletes and hockey in Southern Alberta.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and support as the South East Athletic Club (SEAC)
moves forward.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to any member of the South
East Athletic Club (SEAC) Executive, including the President at seacpresident@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
South East Athletic Club (SEAC) Executive
