SEAC Tigers - Weekend Update



SEAC U15 AA


South East Athletic Club’s U15 AA Tigers defeated the Foothills Bisons 5-2 on Sunday to improve to 8-5-3 on the South Central Alberta Hockey League season.


Talen Thornton, Baker Thompson and Brennan Finke scored in succession to take over a 3-2 lead in the second period, then Owen Gustafson and Austin Murphey pushed the game out of reach in the third.


Kayne Wright turned away 30 shots for the win.


The Tigers will be at the Kinplex on Saturday to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

SEAC U15 AAA


The South East Athletic Club Tigers U15 AAA squad went without a win over the weekend, tying the Calgary Royals 4-4 Saturday before falling 6-1 to the Calgary Bisons on Sunday.


Josiah Jackson, Ty Hynes and Kayden Yeaman led Saturday’s offence with a goal and an assist each, while Cole Fisher rounded out the scoring.


Kolter Gans stopped 34 shots to avoid the loss.


Colby Gulliver scored SEAC’s lone goal on Sunday. Gans stopped 23 shots in the loss.


The Tigers (8-6-2) are on the road Saturday to face the Red Deer Rebels.

SEAC U16 AAA


The South East Athletic Club Tigers rallied to three straight victories over the past week, 4-3 over the Lloydminster Bobcats Thursday, 4-1 over the Grande Peace Storm Friday and 1-0 over the St. Albert Flyers in a Saturday overtime battle.


Will Bell potted a pair Thursday, while Noah Derouin and Heath Geekie rounded out the scoring and Kaige Schafer stopped 25 shots for the win.


Bell added two more Friday, with supporting scoring from Makhi Carriere and Deegen Bert. Keegen Stenger stopped 16 shots for the win.


Ryder Stimson played the hero Saturday with the only goal of the game just past two minutes into overtime.


Schafer stopped 38 shots to secure the shutout and push the Tigers to 7-10-0 on the Alberta Elite Hockey League season. They hit the road Saturday to face the Calgary Royals.
